We were introduced to the mesmerizing guitar compositions of Jose Luis Merlin through our concerts of guitarist Jason Vieaux. Now we are elated to bring Merlin himself here from Spain. A highly sensitive guitarist, he weaves incredible spells with his music. Many thanks to local guitarist Lou Johnson for his efforts in bringing Merlin to us. |

Anthony Molinaro, piano One of the hot young pianists on the international scene is Anthony Molinaro. His extremely busy concert schedule between the USA and Europe made scheduling him for this season very challenging and a great coup for TCCA. Molinaro will present a superlative program of his own scintillating arrangements of Gershwin! |

Special Event! In April 1999, sixteen-year-old Johanna Johnson, daughter of the pastor of Grass Valley's Peace Lutheran Church, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease. Johanna was approached by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to youth suffering from serious illnesses. She was granted her wish to sit in performance with the New York Philharmonic, alongside Joseph Robinson, one of the world's leading oboists. Since her debut, Joseph and Johanna have become very close friends, and he expressed a desire to visit Johanna and to perform in her community. TCCA is honored to host these concerts, featuring Robinson and his wife, Mary Kay, a violinist with the New Jersey Symphony, pianist Aileen James, and including Johanna and her mother, an accomplished soprano. Rescheduled from February 23/24. Tickets will be accepted for exchange at the April 22 concert, or by mail after April 22. |
